Wafer Fab Operator Day Shift
About the Role
Onsemi is seeking a highly motivated Waferfab Operator to join the Manufacturing Operations Team in Hopewell Junction, NY. The role primarily involves loading wafers into production equipment, verifying product specs against equipment settings, monitoring equipment operation, process pace, and productivity, and recognizing when adjustments are needed.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate tools to process wafers through the applicable stage in the manufacturing process.
- Use analytic and deductive skills to determine the best strategies for processing wafers, including tool changeovers.
- Communicate with internal customers and team members to maximize factory productivity.
- Make minor corrections to processes and equipment, and recognize when a technician or engineer is needed.
- Perform computer/software-related tasks such as process diagnosis and interpretation using Statistical Process Control (SPC) methodology.
- Follow documented specifications and production schedules, interfacing with computer systems.
- Work with teammates and other departments to prioritize daily tasks impacting team goals.
- Stay up to date on safety and conduct requirements.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Prior semiconductor experience preferred but not required.
- Stable work history is a plus.
Skills
- Ability to work a 12-hour compressed shift in a cleanroom environment.
- Hard-working, flexible team player with superior attention to detail and computer knowledge.
- Ability to multitask and manage a large volume of activity and demands.
- Willingness to wear cleanroom garments, including a bunny suit, gloves, safety glasses, approved cleanroom shoes, and face coverings.
- Ability to carry 15-pound wafer pods and frequently climb 4-5 step stairs throughout the shift.
Schedule
Day shift 2: Thursday, Friday, Saturday, every other Wednesday, 6:30 AM-7:00 PM. Each shift is 12 hours per day, alternating 3 working days one week and 4 working days the next week. Punctuality is mandatory.
Pay
The base salary range for this position is $18.75-$25.87 per hour, exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. Final pay will depend on geographic location, skills, education, experience, and internal equity.
