W2 contract || IT Security Program Manager

About the Role

This position is based in Fremont, CA and does not offer remote work options. The IT Program Manager will oversee a portfolio of IT projects spanning infrastructure, applications, and information security.

Responsibilities

• Apply project management disciplines to develop plans including project definitions, scope, business requirements, cost, completion dates, resource allocation, and quality/reliability for complex programs.
• Partner with IT teams to ensure appropriate processes and templates are used for project and program success.
• Establish and manage multiple project deliverables, communicate project vision, and align IT resources properly.
• Maintain project budgets, schedules, and resource levels to achieve success.
• Utilize both Agile and Waterfall methodologies to drive technical and functional teams in completing critical path business requirements.
• Develop and implement corrective action plans when deviations from budgets or schedules occur.
• Create and manage short- and long-term program roadmaps.
• Prioritize work based on business needs and IT capabilities.
• Set expectations and manage leadership within IT and the business.
• Assist in developing business cases and engage with key stakeholders to understand needs, document requirements, and perform business analysis.
• Facilitate vendor selection and manage vendor relationships.
• Maintain organization and planning while communicating with stakeholders to meet timelines and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Identify risks and communicate project health to senior leadership regularly.
• Direct changes through appropriate review and approval mechanisms.
• Resolve conflicts between timeline, budget, and scope independently; escalate complex issues to Portfolio management.
• Identify and lead process improvement opportunities while adhering to existing IT processes.
• Demonstrate flexibility and resilience in response to changing or ambiguous work situations.

Requirements

• Minimum of ten years of IT experience (note: posting mentions 15 years in qualifications, but 10 in responsibilities—preserved as stated).
• Project Management Certification (PMP) preferred but not required.
• 10+ years of experience leading and managing diverse projects and programs.
• Security certifications (e.g., Security+, CISSP) are a plus.
• Technical experience required, including SDLC, Agile, and Scrum methodologies.
• Strong cross-group collaboration skills and experience working across multiple teams.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal, and listening communication skills.
• Experience creating project roadmaps.
• Proficiency with MS Project, O365, Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, Smartsheet, and Jira.
