Job Purpose
To perform loading / unloading of RJW trucks and outside carriers. Ensure all shipments are properly stored in the warehouse. Pick orders from warehouse inventory as directed by customer.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Loading / unloading truck / trailers safely and efficiently using proper procedures, including outside carrier equipment.
- Picking and moving from 1 lb to 50 lbs or more multiple times.
- Ensure all documentation is properly completed.
- Cookordination with dispatch and sales to resolve any discrepancies.
- Proper storing of all inbound loads in the correct warehouse location.
- Ensure all shipments are properly marked before storing / picking.
- Maintain warehouse area with orderly stacking and good housekeeping.
- Spotting of trailers to maintain efficient yard organization and flow of equipment into warehouse.
- Cookordination paperwork with drivers after normal dispatch operations are finished for the day.
- General maintenance of are surrounding warehouse.
- Sweeping of trailers when empty.
- Ensure all shipments are correctly staged and loaded properly.
- Processing outbound freight cross-dock freight as necessary.
Additional Responsibilities
- Able to operate Stand-up Reach Forklifts, Cherry Pickers, and some sit-down forklift work.
- Able to build pallets and break down stock.
- Able to work in a fast paced warehouse.
- Other tasks as assigned by manager.
Qualifications
- 1 year Fork Lift driving experience.
- Certified Fork Lift License.
Education And/or Experience Required
- High School Diploma or general education diploma (GED).
Physical Demands
- Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to activate phone systems utilizing keyboards and buttons.
- Frequently required to talk, hear, stand and walk.
- Must be able to work in excess of continuous 8 hours when required.
- Must be able to work under stressful situations, have good cognitive skills, maintain work accuracy, and the ability to concentrate on more than one task at a time.
- Must have the ability to read and discern visual images on a variety of media with 20/20 corrected vision.
- Must be able to speak and communicate clearly over telephones.
- Must be in sound physical health as determined by a certified licensed physician with no evidence of the use of controlled substances.
Work Environment
- While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, and fumes or airborne particles.
- The noise level in the work environment will range from quiet to moderately loud.
