VP, Tax Resolution
About the role
The VP of Tax Resolution will lead the teams responsible for end-to-end tax resolution operations, including client notice management, payroll adjustments, and tax amendments. Reporting to the COO, this role will oversee the investigation and resolution of tax agency notices, audits, and discrepancies, manage high-level relationships with tax authorities, and coach and develop a team of tax analysts and resolution specialists.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the end-to-end tax resolution process - including client notice management, payroll adjustments, and tax amendments.
- Direct the investigation and resolution of federal, state, and local tax agency notices, audits, and discrepancies.
- Manage high-level relationships with tax authorities to resolve penalties, interest, and complex compliance issues.
- Supervise, train, and mentor a team of tax analysts and resolution specialists.
- Coach and develop team members, providing continuous feedback, timely performance evaluations, and developmental opportunities.
- Develop and implement improved procedures and standards for the department, ensuring high-quality, accurate, on-time, and within-budget output, including enhancing metrics (key performance indicators).
- Own reporting to drive data-driven performance reviews.
- Work closely with other teams to ensure a unified strategy and client journey.
Requirements
- 15+ years of progressive experience in operations and/or consulting, with a proven track record of managing and growing multiple teams and functions.
- Bachelor’s Degree, MBA and/or CPA preferred.
- Strong knowledge (or quick learner) of U.S. federal, state, and local payroll tax laws and systems.
- Ability to solve problems and work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment under strict deadlines.
- Strong relationship management skills.

Pay
$200,000 to $250,000 based on experience and expertise.
Schedule
Remote (U.S.) | Atlanta HQ Optional Compensation includes a base salary with bonus and stock options.
