Overview

Movement Strategy is expanding its Account team and seeks a seasoned leader at either the VP or SVP level. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in social-first, culturally relevant work and a track record of building strong client relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the vision and communicate a clear sense of purpose that teams want to rally behind.

  • Set the strategic direction for the account functions and align the team around how we show up for clients.

  • Build the client service model, establish the client service model the whole team operates by, and lead new client onboarding, account planning, quarterly business reviews, and successful renewals.

  • Grow and expand scope by spotting where we can deepen existing relationships, build the case for new scopes of work, and lead the strategy, scoping, and pricing conversations that turn those opportunities into signed business.

  • Partner with finance and operations to forecast revenue accurately and protect margin as accounts scale.

  • Own client leadership by overseeing the entire account function as the senior relationship owner, while staying hands-on with a core cohort of accounts.

  • Lead all client engagements, including strategic guidance, thought leadership, integrated planning, staffing solutions, and revenue forecasting.

  • Champion thought leadership alongside our clients, bringing them into industry events and forums to showcase work, discuss relevant topics, and build relationships in person.

  • Drive new and existing business by identifying and pursuing opportunities to win net-new clients, staying active in new business beyond your own group's book, and leading and contributing to pitches with confidence and authority.

  • Build the team by building and leading a first-class account team, managing and developing talent within your discipline, and developing the next layer of account leadership beneath you.

  • Show up in person by traveling 1-2 times per month on average to be with your clients and your team.

  • Champion AI across the function by leading how we integrate AI into account operations and client work.

  • Navigate the organization by getting things done through both formal and informal channels, maneuvering complex situations with ease, anticipating what's coming, and seizing the right opportunities for change.

  • Solve and deliver by learning quickly when facing new problems and experimenting to find winning solutions, pursuing everything with energy and drive, and staying steady in the face of resistance or setbacks.

Requirements

  • 18+ years managing and growing large-scale client business and global brand portfolios, primarily within a social-first or digital agency environment.

  • Deep fluency in social platforms, creator and influencer ecosystems, and community-driven brand building, plus a real command of social-first measurement.

  • 8+ years managing at least 4 direct reports.

  • A proven track record of strong, lasting client relationships and leadership.

  • A real skill for pitching and winning new business.

  • Experience leading all client engagements: strategic guidance, thought leadership, integrated plans, staffing solutions, revenue forecasts, and oversight of day-to-day account operations.

  • Experience leading account planning across multiple clients and industries.

  • A "lead by example" approach that inspires and motivates cross-functional teams to produce outstanding work.

Qualifications

  • You live in culture and understand how brands stay relevant in social.

  • You're energized by how AI is changing the agency model and see it as an opportunity, not a threat.

  • You're steady and even-keeled, even when the unexpected hits.

  • You see your team's and your clients' success as your own.

  • You're proactive and naturally curious about the digital space.

  • You treat your clients' business as if it were your own.
