VP, Software Engineering Lead (.NET/AWS)

Job Overview: We are seeking a hands-on VP Software Engineering Lead (.NET/AWS) to design, develop, enhance, and optimize cloud-native applications supporting critical business capabilities. This role is approximately 80% hands-on software engineering and solution delivery and 20% technical leadership and mentoring. The ideal candidate will lead technical design, contribute production code, drive modernization, and help scale highly available applications while partnering closely with Product, Architecture, QA, and DevOps teams. This role does not have formal people-management responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deliver new functionality across cloud-native .NET applications running on AWS.
• Enhance, modernize, scale, and optimize existing enterprise applications and services.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs, web services, and distributed application components.
• Drive application resiliency, scalability, performance, security, and observability best practices.
• Contribute production-quality code and participate in architecture, design, code review, testing, deployment, and production support activities.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, QA, Release Management, and DevOps teams throughout the SDLC.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to onshore and offshore engineering teams.
• Participate in technical planning, estimation, backlog refinement, and agile delivery activities.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, application workflows, and architecture artifacts.
• Support engineering leadership through technical metrics, delivery reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years of professional software development experience designing and developing enterprise web applications, APIs, and distributed systems using the .NET technology stack.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience serving in a Technical Lead, Lead Software Engineer, or Software Engineering Lead role delivering complex software solutions.
• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience building and supporting cloud-native applications on AWS.
• Strong hands-on development experience with C#, .NET Core/.NET, REST APIs, SQL Server, and Angular (Angular 8+ preferred).
• Experience with Git-based source control and modern CI/CD practices within Agile software delivery environments.

• Experience developing customer service or workflow-driven applications.
• Experience with AWS services such as Lambda, ECS/EKS, API Gateway, and CloudWatch.
