About the Role

In this role, you will partner with the Regional Manager in executing on a marketing plan to find and cultivate the sources of core and core-plus loans. This includes the initial underwriting, credit analysis, and investment committee presentations of new investment opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Solicit mortgage loans through correspondent mortgage bankers and brokers in a defined geographic territory.
  • Serve as a team member directly soliciting mortgage loans from large national accounts.
  • Review and underwrite proposed mortgage loans.
  • Negotiate and structure mortgage loan investments.
  • Underwrite, value, and inspect the security in collaboration with analysts and team leads.
  • Prepare detailed analysis and presentation of mortgage loan investments to the investment committee.
  • Negotiate and issue mortgage loan term sheets.
  • Coordinate with legal counsel to close mortgage loan transactions and negotiate loan documents.
  • Produce the required volume of quality mortgage loan transactions at required yields.
  • Research new territories and continually review existing territories for quality mortgage loan transactions.
  • Contribute value-added knowledge of local real estate markets within your territory.
  • Build and maintain relationships with correspondent mortgage bankers, mortgage brokers, and borrowers.
  • Maintain general knowledge of factors affecting the real estate market and economy.
  • Provide leadership in areas of program and subordinate development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ work experience in commercial real estate.
  • Ability to evaluate real estate and real estate markets.
  • Detailed knowledge of mortgage loan documentation, analysis, and legal issues.
  • Knowledge of alternative investments and relative value.
  • Management and leadership skills to implement directives and achieve established goals.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.

Additional Information

This role will be based in our Atlanta, GA office with a hybrid work schedule. Frequent travel to assigned territory is required to inspect assets, build and strengthen correspondent relationships, and develop knowledge of local markets.

Pay

The annual base salary range for this position is $175,000 to $200,000 USD. In addition to base salary, Voya offers incentive opportunities (e.g., annual cash incentives, sales incentives, and/or long-term incentives) based on role to reward achievement of annual performance objectives.
