For a leader in the Finance & Insurance space, we are seeking a VP of Payments Engineering to lead technical work focused on secure, reliable systems and risk-aware execution. This role involves collaborating across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions. The position offers the opportunity to influence architecture, execution quality, and the technology capabilities that enable long-term growth within a regulated financial services environment.

Responsibilities
- Lead global software engineering teams for Payments platforms and services
- Build a culture emphasizing innovation, accountability, and continuous learning
- Coach and develop engineering leaders and build a strong leadership pipeline
- Own engineering delivery for Payments initiatives with a focus on quality and timeliness
- Translate technology strategies into actionable implementation roadmaps
- Drive engineering execution across various product domains and capabilities
- Partner with key stakeholders to ensure balance between customer value and technical sustainability
Qualifications
- 20+ years of software engineering experience with 12+ years in leadership roles
- Significant experience building modern payment systems or regulated transaction-processing platforms
- Deep understanding of payment processes including authorization and settlement
- Proven track record of delivering cloud-native distributed systems at enterprise scale
- Strong technical proficiency in microservices, APIs, Kubernetes, and security practices
- Demonstrated success in leading organizational transformations
- Experience managing globally distributed engineering teams
Pay
$283,000 – $332,400 annually
