VP Payer Contracting - Remote

For our client, we are seeking a VP Payer Contracting to join the team of a leader in the Healthcare space. This leader will own payer contracting strategy for a major New England market, with a strong emphasis on financially sustainable agreements and value-based payment models. The role will partner closely with internal operational and clinical leaders to strengthen contract performance, reimbursement outcomes, and network relationships. This is a highly visible leadership position that combines negotiation, market strategy, and team development in a complex healthcare environment. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $159,300 – $273,200 annually Responsibilities Lead payer and preferred provider contracting strategy for the New England market Ensure contracts are financially sustainable and aligned with organizational goals Negotiate value-based arrangements, including risk and capitation models Cultivate strategic partnerships with key payers and network partners Collaborate with internal leaders to support contract performance and operations Develop reporting and oversight structures to track performance metrics Mentor and lead the payer contracting team and drive cross-functional strategies Qualifications 10+ years of experience in payer contracting or network management with business results accountability 5+ years of experience managing medical cost and administrative budgets 5+ years of experience in payer or provider contracting with risk- and value-based payment methods Expert-level knowledge of healthcare reimbursement methods, pricing structures, and regulatory systems Experience in the Massachusetts healthcare market is preferred Benefits Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance Incentive and recognition programs to reward performance Equity stock purchase plan to encourage employee investment 401(k) contributions for retirement planning Flexible remote work options available for Massachusetts residents Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
