Job Summary
This is a senior leadership operations position responsible for inbound and outbound warehouse, fleet services, facilities management (including building, grounds, power industrial equipment, sanitation, security), beverage services, transportation (including routing, delivery, and backhaul), operations systems and related third party providers.
Responsibilities
- Achieves performance key metrics, expense and revenue management
- Strategic execution of local and corporate initiatives
- Compliance with government regulations
- Safety and security of the building, its contents and people
- Management and direction of staff
- Prepares and executes an annual profit plan with direct input from the management team
- Oversees budget management including labor, benefits, supplies, company assets, capital investments, depreciation, maintenance and repair, and third party contracts
- Evaluates fiscal metrics and adjusts activities to meet or exceed performance expectations
- Collaboratively resolves any customer or delivery opportunities or issues
- Communicates with merchandising, sales management and marketing associates
- Participates in company decisions as a member of senior staff
- Maintains associate relations through regular department meetings
- Interprets trains and consistently enforces company policies and procedures
- Performs management functions of staff selection, compensation, development, discipline, performance reviews and/or terminations
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required, in business administration, supply chain management, operations management or equivalent combination of education and related experience
- Experience: 7 years operations experience
- Professional Skills: Demonstrated progressive levels of management experience, ability to read, comprehend, write and speak English, write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals, effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public, add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists, interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form, prove knowledge of spreadsheet software and word processing software, and the ability to learn Sysco technology software and programs, must have excellent computer skills, working knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, as well as environmental regulations/legislation and governing bodies, proven knowledge of spreadsheet software and word processing software, and the ability to learn Sysco technology software and programs, must have excellent computer skills, works non-traditional business hours including evenings, nights, weekends, holidays and on-call, occasionally exposed to high, precarious places, periodically exposed to fumes or airborne particles, noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions
