Department Job Description Summary
Risk Management for the medical center including owned physician practices.
Insurance Renewals, Claims Management for Professional Liability, General Liability, Property & Auto.
Performance Improvement,
The Joint Commission Accreditation (or other accrediting organizations) inclusive of Certified Programs
Oversee the implementation and utilization of Quality registries to drive performance improvement and quality of care.
Oversee Infection Control Program
Oversee Patient Safety Program and align with Risk Management.
This should include collaboration on efforts to ensure patient and employee safety.
Collaborate with other Departments in the Organization to drive performance on publicly reported quality and safety measures inclusive but not limited to CMS programs, Leapfrog, Healthgrades and US News & World Reports.
Oversee Performance Improvement efforts to drive quality and safe care in collaboration with nursing, physicians, and other stakeholders within the organization.
Qualifications
The Vice President will be an experienced healthcare professional with the following experience:
Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Business Administration, or a Juris Doctorate degree preferred.
Five to eight years of healthcare experience dealing with serious incidents and claims, with a minimum of eight years of management experience.
The ability to maintain confidentiality of serious incident reporting and claims activity.
A strong understanding of laws, regulations, and regulatory guidance related to healthcare risk management including abuse and neglect.
