The position oversees vendor negotiations, inventory management, and purchasing department operations, and includes people leadership responsibility for a procurement team.

Responsibilities

• Manages all aspects of product procurement, including program negotiation with manufacturers and vendors
• Oversees the hiring, training, coaching, and performance management of procurement staff
• Manages inventory levels to support the company's financial position and service levels
• Negotiates vendor pricing and programs
• Disposes of proprietary inventory tied to lost customers
• Interacts directly with customers and vendors to resolve questions and maintain fill rate service standards
• Establishes procedures that improve the purchasing department's efficiency and productivity
• May oversee marketing and merchandising functions, depending on organizational structure

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
• 6 to 7+ years of experience in procurement or a related area, including supervisory experience

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (preferred)
• 10+ years of experience in procurement with supervisory or management experience in the foodservice industry (preferred)

Pay

$110,000 to $135,000 per year
