About the role

You will maintain a high-end K–12 campus environment that is secure, reliable, and visitor-ready at all times across Central Texas. Your output determines whether a campus maintains its premium standard or slowly deteriorates between leadership check-ins.

Responsibilities

  • Performing scheduled on-site inspections across Central Texas campuses using documented standards for cleanliness, HVAC, safety, security, signage, landscaping, furniture, and tour-readiness — and converting findings into confirmed corrective actions

  • Responding to facilities problems and emergencies, coordinating with vendors, and closing work orders only once issues are confirmed resolved (urgent within 24 hours, standard within 1 week)

  • Overseeing local vendor execution against service-level agreements, removing vendors who consistently underperform, renegotiating contracts, and conducting direct accountability discussions on quality and pricing

  • Establishing a weekly operational cadence with Campus Coordinators and Site Specialists to ensure every campus follows consistent procedures, not ad-hoc workarounds

  • Overseeing significant campus improvement projects (HVAC replacements, interior updates, landscaping, AV/networking) on time and within budget, with minimal student disruption

  • Developing enterprise standards and AI-supported procurement frameworks (leveraging ticketing platforms, IoT/predictive maintenance tools, and centralized vendor sourcing) to ensure uniform campus launch and operations

  • Delivering concise weekly written updates on regional facility quality, vendor metrics, escalations, and capital expenditure tracking

Requirements

  • Located in or within commuting distance of the Austin, TX metro area, prepared to work primarily from the Austin campus with 20–40% regional travel

  • Authorized to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship

  • 5+ years managing multi-site facilities, regional operations, hospitality operations, retail operations, or school operations

  • Demonstrated ability to hold vendor-managed services accountable for quality, cost, and SLA compliance across multiple sites

  • Hands-on experience addressing urgent facilities challenges (safety, HVAC, security, cleanliness) with measurable impact on customer experience

  • Consistent written operational discipline: issue tracking, escalation documentation, vendor correspondence, weekly regional performance summaries

  • Proven use of contemporary operations platforms (ticketing systems, IoT/predictive maintenance, AI-enabled procurement or planning)

Nice-to-have Requirements

  • Multi-site operations leadership in premium hospitality, luxury retail, private K–12 education, or healthcare networks serving demanding clientele

  • Experience building or rehabilitating a regional operations framework where the previous model depended on individual heroics instead of documented standards

  • History of terminating underperforming vendors and developing a reliable local vendor network

  • Experience managing capital improvement projects (HVAC, AV/networking, landscaping, interior upgrades) in active, customer-facing facilities

  • Familiarity with AI-driven operating environments where automated playbooks, dashboards, and predictive systems handle routine tasks so teams can focus on strategic decisions
