VP of Engineering, Content Intelligence & Discovery

New York City based HYBRID position

Candidates must be located in NYC, and willing to come into the office on a hybrid basis, three times a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday).

Key Responsibilities

• Algorithmic Innovation: Lead the transition to more advanced ML models for discovery. Ensure the "precision and recall" of our systems, connecting users to the right content in milliseconds.
• AI-Accelerated Engineering: Champion and mentor for the adoption of AI-assisted development tools (LLMs for coding, automated testing, and documentation). Help the team integrate these tools into their daily workflows to increase velocity and code quality.
• Full-Cycle Operational Ownership: Instill a culture of high availability, deep observability, and proactive "ops" management within the engineering teams. Ensure your teams are responsible for the health of their own services.
• Systems Architecture: Oversee the design of resilient, low-latency data pipelines and APIs capable of handling massive scale live-sports metadata and user activity data.
• Global Execution: Synchronize technical roadmaps between domestic teams and international partners, ensuring a cohesive strategy for AI-driven metadata enrichment.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• The "Bilingual" Leader: A seasoned systems engineer fluent in Data Science, able to audit backend architectures and discuss nuances of ML models.
• Operational Rigor: Experience running high-traffic production systems, believing that an algorithm's effectiveness depends on its uptime and empowering engineers to manage their own production environments.
• Product & Data Obsessed: Driven by metrics, translating product needs into technical requirements, and not building for the sake of "cool tech."
• Leadership at Scale: Track record of scaling engineering organizations, mentoring managers, and fostering a culture of excellence in fast-paced environments.

• The minimum base salary for this role in New York City is $275,000 per year; the maximum base salary is $320,000 per year
