About the Role

The Vice President of Capital Projects will lead OTG’s high-value capital improvement programs across major U.S. airports, overseeing project portfolios ranging from $50M to $100M+. This executive-level position is responsible for program budgeting, selecting delivery methods (CMAR, design-build, etc.), procuring and managing contractors, and driving complex construction schedules to successful on-time and on-budget delivery. The role provides critical leadership for OTG’s most transformative airport concession developments, including projects underway at JFK, IAH, and MCO.

Responsibilities

  • Lead capital project portfolios totaling $50M–$100M+, ensuring delivery excellence across multiple airport terminals.
  • Drive all aspects of budgeting, delivery method strategy, contractor selection, and construction scheduling.
  • Oversee centralized program controls, reporting, and risk management using tools such as Procore and Oracle.
  • Direct teams of on-site project managers, ensuring consistency, quality, and operational coordination.
  • Serve as the executive liaison with airport authorities, airline partners, city/state agencies, and OTG’s senior leadership.
  • Guide the integration of design, facilities, logistics, and tenant phasing to maintain passenger operations.
  • Monitor construction performance, implement continuous improvement metrics, and ensure code/regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders in finance, legal, operations, IT, and design to align all capital initiatives with OTG’s business strategy.
  • Work in tandem with the Vice President of Design to align project delivery with design objectives, milestones, and brand standards from concept through closeout.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field. Master’s degree, PMP, or LEED AP certification is a plus.
  • 10+ years of construction or project management experience, including at least 5 years managing projects in highly regulated environments (preferably airports, hospitality, or retail).
  • Experience working for an owner in capital projects delivery, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and stakeholder expectations.
  • Exceptional project management skills with proficiency in tools like Procore, Primavera, or MS Project to oversee complex airport concession projects.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder and team engagement at an executive level.
  • Strong financial acumen for managing multimillion-dollar project budgets and cost tracking.
  • Proven leadership and team-building skills to manage a dedicated team and foster high performance with strong retention.
  • Advanced negotiation and relationship management abilities with internal teams, airport authorities, and external partners.
  • Deep familiarity with U.S. and Canadian construction markets, regulations (TSA, FAA, local codes), and construction contractor networks.
  • Expertise in sustainable construction practices and modern delivery methods to enhance project efficiency and environmental impact.
  • Must be located or willing to relocate to the New York Metro Area.
  • Willingness to travel up to 40% throughout the U.S. and Canada for project oversight and stakeholder meetings.

Pay

$200,000–$240,000 annually plus bonus eligibility. Compensation may differ based on job-related factors such as individual skill sets, professional experience, education/training, organizational needs, and market dynamics.
