About the Role
Alta is seeking a Vice President of Administration to run the organization at enterprise scale. The VP of Administration holds full accountability for all administrative and operational functions of Alta Services, coordinating people, process, technology, and compliance across multiple workstreams simultaneously.
Responsibilities
- Operations Leadership:
- Lead all administrative and operational functions, including Call Center, Policy Processing, Mailroom, Agency, and Claims.
- Set and maintain performance standards for operational teams: service levels, quality metrics, throughput targets, and escalation protocols.
- Own the operating budget, produce regular variance analysis, and provide financial reporting to executive leadership.
- Identify and eliminate operational waste; build standardized, scalable processes.
- Ensure regulatory and compliance standards are maintained across all states, in coordination with Compliance and Legal functions.
- Communication & Stakeholder Management:
- Produce clear, audience-calibrated communications, from executive-level reports to front-line team briefings.
- Represent Alta Services in interactions with AM Best, regulatory examinations, and external audits.
- Build a culture of transparency within the operations team.
- Partner with HR and executive leadership on organizational communications.
- Process Improvement & Scalable Operating Model:
- Assess and redesign processes to eliminate redundancy and formalize controls.
- Implement operational metrics and dashboards for real-time visibility.
- Build a continuous improvement culture within the team.
- Evaluate and manage vendor relationships; negotiate service levels.
- Develop organizational structure and talent framework to support growth.
- Lead enterprise-scale change initiatives, including consolidations and system transitions.
Qualifications
- Required:
- 10+ years of progressive operations/administrative leadership, with 3+ years at VP or equivalent level.
- Experience leading large-scale operational migration, consolidation, or integration.
- Insurance industry background; familiarity with life, health, and/or annuity products preferred.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong financial acumen: budget management and cost-benefit analysis.
- Track record of improving processes in changing environments.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-accountability setting.
- Preferred:
- Experience leading multi-workstream programs involving IT, HR, Claims, Finance, and Call Center.
- Familiarity with Claims administration and multi-state adjuster licensing.
- Experience building/rebuilding operations post-acquisition or consolidation.
- Bachelor's degree required.
