VP, Medical Science & Strategy - Rare Disease

About the role

This role will drive strategic priorities, executive-level problem solving, and cross-functional execution on initiatives that matter most to the business. You will partner with senior leaders and teams across the organization to clarify priorities, coordinate complex work, and turn strategic decisions into measurable action. The position offers the opportunity to strengthen operating cadence, decision quality, and enterprise execution within a life sciences environment.

Responsibilities

• Define and govern rare disease portfolio strategy to drive growth
• Lead strategic executive client engagements and governance forums
• Set standards for medical/scientific quality across development processes
• Shape strategic alliances to enhance business positioning in rare disease
• Partner with various departments to achieve measurable outcomes
• Mentor physicians/scientists to build organizational capability
• Spearhead innovation and cross-functional initiatives for service expansion

Qualifications

• MD required; board certification preferred
• 10+ years of experience in leading Rare Disease clinical development programs
• Experience advancing at least one asset from discovery through registration
• Recognized therapeutic expert with peer credibility in the pharmaceutical industry
• Active medical license preferred but not required

Pay

$180,000 – $220,000 annually
