Responsibilities
- Review new loan opportunities and prepare complex financial underwriting on healthcare transactions typically ranging from $30-100 million
- Work closely with sponsors, borrowers, legal counsel, technical advisors, syndication partners, and internal credit stakeholders
- Analyze historical and projected financial performance, model a variety of financing scenarios, and provide valuation analyses that appropriately consider risks associated with the loan opportunity, underlying operations, and the associated industry and regulatory environment
- Analyze other key areas of due diligence including accounts receivable, accounts payable, provider taxes, real estate taxes, licensure, clinical performance, and third-party reimbursement
- Analyze borrower-prepared reports and third-party reports including financial statements, borrowing base certificates, appraisals, engineering reports, and collateral field examinations
- Work closely with loan closer to ensure that insurance reviews are completed, applicable bank accounts are opened, and all required KYC documentation is received
- Underwrite healthcare loan transactions, review legal documentation, coordinate execution of interest rate protection products on behalf of borrowers, and manage the closing of new loans
- Manage the transition of closed healthcare loans to the portfolio management team
- Participate in special projects on an as needed basis
- Build industry relationships and identify possible new loan opportunities
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with a focus in finance or accounting or similar post-degree work experience
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a credit analysis and loan underwriting role with a strong preference in healthcare finance
- Strong understanding of credit policies and procedures and the ability to appropriately assess and monitor the risk associated with new and existing loans
- High proficiency in financial statement analysis and Excel-based modeling
- Experience with loan structuring and legal documentation review
- Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, strong oral and written communications skills and the ability to express ideas in an organized and articulate manner
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to develop and maintain relationships within the organization and the healthcare industry
- Detailed-oriented and self-motivated team player with a strong work ethic. Well organized and able to work under pressure, multi-task and meet deadlines
Pay
$180,000.00 - $225,000.00
Schedule
Near term: Independently prescreen and underwrite, document, and close new loan opportunities.
Intermediate Term: Join the CBG AI taskforce to create underwriting efficiencies at CRB.
