VP, FP&A Strategic Finance
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the preparation of the firm’s annual Investor Day presentation.
- Collaborate with the business unit COO, External Reporting, Legal, and Marketing teams.
- Work closely with C-suite level management to communicate a coherent message to our investors on the firm’s strategic objectives.
- Lead the preparation of the firm’s quarterly earnings estimate and present results in a concise manner to senior management.
- Be prepared to answer follow-up questions and take responsibility for open items which may arise from the meeting discussion.
- Review and analyze external consensus models of Jefferies’ quarterly earnings created and maintained by coverage analysts.
- Serve as a point of contact for this group of external stakeholders.
- Review and analyze the firm’s quarterly P&L forecasts and reported actuals, including prior period variance analysis.
- Synthesize into a concise narrative to explain the firm’s performance across key business segments such as Investment Banking, Capital Markets, and Asset Management.
- Work closely with the External Reporting team to ensure the timely and accurate completion of the firm’s press release to announce quarterly financial results.
- Develop and prepare weekly agenda and materials to discuss with firm Controller and CFO.
- Manage the oversight and development of junior staff members by ensuring they are properly trained and supported.
- Collaborate with IT to develop and maintain reporting tools, dashboards, and AI agents.
- Aid in ad hoc analysis and presentations for senior leadership, including but not limited to; business segment profitability, total addressable market opportunities, market share & competitor analysis, return on tangible equity scenario analysis.
Qualifications
- +6 years of relevant FP&A, Strategic Finance, Investor Relations, financial reporting, or related finance experience, within financial services – preferably at an investment bank.
- Strong knowledge of forecasting, budgeting, accounting principles, financial markets, and financial products.
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills, with the ability to develop clear, executive-ready analysis and presentations from large data sets.
- Experience designing and building complex financial models.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, high attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to diverse audiences.
- Proven ability to build relationships, collaborate cross-functionally, interact with stakeholders at all levels, and work independently with sound judgment.
About the Role
This role is ideal for a highly analytical finance professional with strong FP&A, Strategic Finance, or Investor Relations experience. The successful candidate will partner closely with internal stakeholders in Finance and business unit COO teams to provide C-suite level management with financial insights to support decision making and business growth.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field required.
- CFA or equivalent qualification considered a plus.
