VP, Community Health Ministries
Location: Remote with around 30% travel
About the role
The Vice President of Community Health Ministries (CHM) will serve as a critical leader advocating for all strategies related to CHMs, collaborating with all internal teams to ensure seamless integration with Ascension’s portfolio. This autonomous and outcome-oriented role will function as the single thread of authority accountable for achieving Ascension’s CHM-related objectives and key results. As subject matter expert, this role will provide key direction to health equity-driven performance strategy and population health interventions within Ascension’s CHM portfolio.
In addition, the Vice President of CHMs is an integral part of the Community Impact team tasked with informing our organization’s overall strategic direction pertaining to community care delivery. This leader must be mission-driven and accountable for the success of our CHMs in communities where we serve and be strategically focused on opportunities to optimize current operations and build a strong foundation for our future state.
Today, Ascension CHMs are located in multiple practices which provide medical, dental, and social services within Arkansas, Louisiana, Missouri, and Texas.
Responsibilities
- Builds and maintains relationships with key community stakeholders to advance community health partnership opportunities.
- Serves as the representative on community coalitions, task forces, boards, and other groups that share our mission and priorities relative to improving the health of the community and promoting the ministry's community presence and mission.
- Develops, oversees, monitors, and evaluates major community health improvement programs and initiatives.
- Provides leadership for improving access to care for uninsured consistent with mission, principles, and call to action.
- Provides leadership for the development and approval of strategic plans and priorities for community health programs and services.
- Prepares, presents, and maintains budget.
- Reports on progress and outcomes of community health programs, initiatives, and partnerships.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required
- 7 years of experience required
Qualifications
- Master's degree or advanced degree(s) in business, health administration, and/or public policy or other relevant fields with 8+ years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required, with 4 of those years being in leadership/management.
- 15+ years of experience in healthcare
- 8+ years of successfully leading and growing Community Health initiatives including knowledge of community health center business, funding models
- Senior-level experience in strategic planning and health care operations (system and local level preferred)
- Ability to travel roughly a third of the time or as needed
Pay
Salary: $313,891.00 - 431,600.00 per year. The expected compensation range for this position is from the minimum to midpoint of the pay grade. Actual compensation will be based on factors such as experience, education, and organizational fit. Eligible for an annual bonus incentive.
