VP, Commercial Loan Servicing Manager

About the role

The Commercial Loan Servicing Department Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of the department, ensuring accurate and timely servicing of the company's mortgage portfolio. This role requires strong supervisory and administrative skills, as well as a deep understanding of loan servicing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the daily activities of the team, including effective delegation of assignments, developing work schedules, and providing necessary training.
  • Supervises the hiring, career development, promotion, and termination of employees.
  • Maintains positive and productive intra and interdepartmental workflows and recommends improvements.
  • Monitors and maintains loan servicing standards and coordinates these activities with other departments.
  • Ensures adherence to federal, state, and local laws and regulations, as well as bank internal policies and procedures.
  • Reviews, revises, enhances, and implements policies and procedures necessary to ensure loan servicing meets all applicable requirements.
  • Ensures the sub-servicer’s full compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, including but not limited to FCRA, RESPA, and GLB.
  • Assists in yearend reporting and provides assistance in processing and settling investor purchase advices.
  • Supports interviewing and hiring decisions and prepares and delivers employee performance evaluations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred and a minimum of five (5) years’ experience working in a similar field consisting of an in-depth background in servicing loans and supervisory skills.
  • Experience in the Banking industry preferred.
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma/LEAN a plus.
  • Current Driver’s License and a vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage if required to drive in the course of performing assigned duties and responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of, adherence to, monitoring, and responsibility for compliance with state and federal regulations and laws as they pertain to this position, including but not limited to Regulation Z, Regulation B, Fair Housing Act, Home Mortgage Disclosure Act, Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Bank Secrecy Act, AML, CIP, RFPA, and CRA.
  • Intermediate skills in computer terminal and personal computer operation; Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Advanced math skills; ability to calculate interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages; balance accounts; add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; locate routine mathematical errors; compute rate, ratio and percent, including the drafting and interpretation of bar graphs.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to provide leadership, supervision, and training for four or more employees using positive supervisory techniques to ensure maximum productivity; demonstrated ability in organization and delegation skills.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and instruct others, train personnel, write reports, correspondence and procedures, and speak clearly to customers and employees.
  • Ability to make decisions that have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and cross-functional departments.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work schedules on a short-term and long-term basis.
  • Ability to provide consultation and expert advice to management.
  • Ability to make informal and formal presentations, inside and outside the organization; speaking before assigned team or other groups as needed.
  • Ability to deal with complex difficult problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations.
  • Ability to work with little to no supervision while performing duties.

Pay

The base salary ultimately offered is determined through a review of education, industry experience, training, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant in alignment with market data and other factors.
