VP – Business Control Partner, Risk Solutions Group

About the role

Play a pivotal role in supporting the GTC CCO Lead to maintain a robust and business-aligned risk and control environment across the Risk Solutions Group (RSG).

Responsibilities

• Work closely with business stakeholders, COO teams, and control partners to embed first-line accountability, strengthen governance disciplines, and ensure consistent application of the control framework.
• Provide thoughtful oversight and task on risk identification, issues management, and control effectiveness, while contributing to senior governance forums with clear, insight-driven perspectives.
• Lead targeted deep dives into emerging risk themes, delivering actionable assessments that help identify and mitigate control weaknesses across the organization.

Requirements

• Risk and controls expertise, with the ability to design, implement, and enhance effective controls and processes.
• Ability to influence and engage senior stakeholders, driving collaboration and delivering outcomes across complex business environments and all three lines of defense.
• Excellent problem-solving capabilities, with a strategic and solution-focused approach to identifying and mitigating risks.
• Able to manage multiple priorities and ensure dependable execution.

Qualifications

• Prior experience working with investment banking products and services.
• Prior experience working with policies and standards, including ability to design associated processes, controls, and testing needs.
• Knowledge of Barclays Cross Border framework.
