Job Overview
In this role, you will serve as a senior member of the Business and Legal Affairs team, partnering closely with the EVP, Business and Legal Affairs and business leaders across the organization to provide strategic legal counsel that enables the company's business objectives while managing legal, regulatory, operational, and reputational risk.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee legal support for the company's programming slate, including day-to-day production legal matters from development through delivery.
- Structure, draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of agreements in support of the company's business and production activities.
- Provide strategic legal counsel to business leaders on legal, regulatory, operational, and reputational risks affecting the company.
- Advise on prepublication review and intellectual property matters, including copyright, trademark, privacy, defamation, and related media law issues.
- Counsel internal stakeholders on compliance, employment and labor matters, risk and safety, and policy and protocol development.
- Partner with the EVP, Business and Legal Affairs on litigation strategy, crisis management, and other significant legal matters.
- Develop practical, business-focused legal solutions that support company objectives while appropriately managing risk.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with business leaders and internal stakeholders to identify legal issues, mitigate risk, and support strategic initiatives.
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments impacting the media and entertainment industry and advise the business on potential implications.
- Mentor and provide leadership to members of the Business and Legal Affairs team, fostering collaboration, sound judgment, and professional development.
Minimum Qualifications
- 8–10+ years of progressive legal experience, with substantial experience in entertainment law, including significant in-house and/or outside counsel experience in television, documentary, or film production companies or networks.
- Demonstrated leadership experience.
- Juris Doctor and membership in good standing with the Connecticut Bar, or the ability to register as In-House Counsel in Connecticut.

Compensation & Benefits
The pay range for this role is $225,000 to $250,000 annually. The base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, which may include office location, education, skills, and experience. This position is also eligible for our Discretionary Executive Bonus Plan, subject to the rules of the plan.
