VP, Associate General Counsel/Privacy Officer
About the role
For our client, we are seeking a VP, Associate General Counsel/Privacy Officer to join the team of a leader in the Healthcare space. This role will serve as a key legal and privacy leader, guiding enterprise-wide compliance and risk management in a highly regulated healthcare environment. The position will partner closely with executive leadership, IT, and business stakeholders to support practical decision-making around AI, data privacy, cybersecurity, and vendor relationships. Success in this role will require balancing legal strategy with operational execution while helping shape governance frameworks for emerging technologies and sensitive data use.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal counsel on AI governance, data privacy, and HIPAA compliance.
- Oversee company-wide contract management for IT and vendor agreements.
- Lead the development of AI governance frameworks and advisory processes.
- Advise executive leadership on legal risks related to AI and emerging technologies.
- Manage compliance with HIPAA, CCPA, and other privacy laws.
- Advise on cybersecurity governance and incident response strategies.
- Collaborate with IT and other departments to assess privacy impacts.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Active bar membership in good standing in the United States.
- 7+ years of legal experience, including three years in a law firm.
- Extensive training in negotiating high-value IT and vendor agreements.
- Strong drafting skills for complex legal matters.
- Expertise in AI governance and compliance.
- Comprehensive knowledge of privacy and HIPAA regulations.

Pay
$260,000 – $299,000 annually
