About the role

This role is responsible for the overall management of a client’s portfolio once acquired, acting as the primary point of contact for all portfolio management, servicing oversight, servicing transfer, and asset strategy deployed by the company on behalf of a client. The position oversees multiple servicers, trusts, and strategic portfolio initiatives simultaneously across all asset classes, coordinating servicing transfer, operational review, remittance and data reconciliation, workout decisions, and performance enhancements.

Responsibilities

• Maintain overall management of a client’s portfolio post‑acquisition, serving as the primary contact for portfolio management, servicing oversight, servicing transfer, and asset strategy.
• Oversee multiple servicers, trusts, and strategic portfolio initiatives across all asset classes.
• Coordinate servicing transfer, operational review, remittance reconciliation, data reconciliation, render workout decisions, and identify servicing performance irregularities or exceptions.
• Drive enhanced performance by a client’s servicer.
• Collaborate with diligence and collateral services teams to define asset‑level strategies and curative effort post‑settlement, including quantitative and qualitative analysis, loan documentation review, and compliance assessment with GSE and regulatory guidelines.
• Develop portfolio campaign strategies, customized reporting, and project‑management functions.
• Lead the Asset Management Team, ensuring overall quality and performance.
• Maintain visibility into the status of every deal by ensuring appropriate reviews are performed in the system.
• Utilize Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, etc.) to understand and reconcile data.
• Raise potential issues (performance, timeline, etc.) to management (VP, SVP, etc.).
• Verify that critical exceptions are correctly applied where appropriate.
• Identify performance trends and potential enhancements for servicer processes or internal system changes.
• Perform other activities as assigned by the manager.

Qualifications

• College degree or training in finance/mortgage banking preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 8+ years of industry or relevant experience, typically with 2+ years in an AVP‑level role or external equivalent.
• Mortgage/secondary market experience or equivalent preferred.
• Commercial real estate asset management experience (required).
• Strong Excel skills, including VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and other functions.
• Team‑oriented with the ability to multitask.
• Excellent PC skills and high proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Strong analytical ability, good judgment, and strategic, multidimensional thinking.
• Detail‑oriented, organized, professional, punctual, and dependable.

Pay

Annual full‑time base salary range: $115,000 – $155,000. Specific compensation is determined through interviews and a review of relevant education, experience, training, skills, geographic location, and market data. Certain positions may be eligible for a discretionary bonus as determined by bonus program guidelines and senior management approval.
