VP, Advisor Consultant
About the role
The Advisor Consultant will manage a defined territory (set by geography and/or Advisor segmentation), performing external sales functions. The role will work within the US Wealth Advisory Services team to drive sales in the defined territory across all products offered by Nuveen. The position will partner closely with Market Leaders, Advisor Consultants, Specialists, and internal team members within the region. Responsibilities include maintaining current client assets, cross-selling producing advisors, and converting prospects to clients.
Responsibilities
- Develop consultative relationships with financial advisors across wire, independent, and RIA distribution channels to grow market share of Nuveen’s products and drive revenue.
- Communicate in-depth understanding of Nuveen’s solutions, capital markets, and industry trends.
- Incorporate data analytics into territory to identify best opportunities for success.
- Work effectively in a team environment with Market Leaders, Advisor Consultants, Specialists, and Internal Advisor Consultants.
- Manage pipeline process to track opportunities through different stages of the sales process.
- Collaborate and share best practices across regional teams.
- Support US Wealth Advisory Services broader campaigns and initiatives across the entire product suite.
- Conduct discovery work to review client asset allocation and determine Nuveen investment solutions that may fit within recommended allocations.
- Develop and maintain relationships with centers of influence in territory.
- Attend industry conferences/events.
Requirements
- 3+ years of wholesaling experience required; 5+ years preferred.
- FINRA Series 7 and Series 63 (or combination of Series 63 and Series 65); can be obtained within 90 days of hire.
- Bachelor’s degree.
Qualifications
- A strong combination of sales and analytical skills.
- Significant knowledge of financial markets, including equity and fixed income, and the ability to articulate investment discipline with a deep understanding of process and specific portfolios.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to profile clients.
- Excellent planning, organization, and time management skills; ability to analyze and prioritize large amounts of information.

Pay
Base Pay Range: $90,000/yr – $100,000/yr. Actual base salary may vary based on relevant experience, time in role, internal peer salaries, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the compensation package may include participation in an incentive program linked to performance (e.g., annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
