VP Accounting

Our client is a fast-growing aerospace and defense manufacturer that has scaled rapidly through a combination of organic growth and acquisitions. This is an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment where the accounting function is actively being built out to match the company's growth. The company is seeking a Senior Controller / VP of Accounting to own consolidated GAAP accounting across multiple entities and bring deep government accounting expertise to a growing, multi-entity organization. This is a strategic, build-it-out role for someone who wants to shape an accounting function, not simply maintain one. What You'll Do Own consolidated GAAP financial reporting across multiple ERP systems, with more entities expected to be added as the company continues to grow through acquisition Apply deep expertise in government cost accounting, including FAR, CAS, and earned value management Oversee preparation of monthly financial statements, including income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow, along with the monthly banking package Manage general ledger reconciliations and trial balance roll-ups across business units Lead a centralized, shared-services accounting team covering accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and labor accounting Partner with FP&A and pricing leadership to support broader finance operations Help design and scale the accounting organization's structure as the company continues to grow Build and mentor a growing accounting team, including senior accountants and a fixed-asset accountant What You Bring 15+ years of aerospace and defense accounting experience 5+ years leading complex accounting teams Deep, hands-on experience with FAR, CAS, and earned value management Experience with multi-entity, multi-ERP consolidation, ideally within a company that has grown through acquisition A track record of building and scaling accounting processes and teams, not just operating within an existing structure Comfort operating in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, ambiguous environment Strong GAAP technical knowledge and financial statement preparation experience About Gradel Pro Search (GPS) Gradel Pro Search (GPS) is an industrial executive search firm specializing in leadership placements across aerospace, defense, manufacturing, engineered products, and chemicals.
