Voter Registration Canvasser

Responsibilities

• Engage with the public in a friendly and respectful manner
• Deliver a compelling campaign message, and collect complete and valid voter registration forms
• Participate in staff training to improve outreach skills
• Strictly follow all local, state, and federal laws around voter registration

Requirements

• Canvasser: Start at $20/hour, $1/hr bonus for bilingual staff in Des Moines and Scranton
• Team Leader: Start at $21/hour, same pay structure as Canvasser plus additional responsibilities
• Shifts: 10:45 a.m.–6:30 p.m., Tuesday–Sunday, with the possibility to work part-time or full-time

Qualifications

• Passionate about progressive politics and fostering democracy
• Strong communication skills; enjoy working with other people and being willing to speak with everyone
• Hard worker who stays motivated to engage as many people as possible
• Open to new challenges and interested in building campaign skills
• Culturally competent and able to respectfully engage with teammates and the community
• Prior voter registration experience is strongly preferred, but not required
