Voter Registration Canvasser - $20-$22/hr bonuses

This year, with key issues and human rights on the line, it is extremely important that people uplift their voices at the ballot box to vote for the change they want to see in their communities. Every eligible voter deserves the chance to influence their community and shape the electorate. We’ll engage with potential voters in busy public places within their communities to help them register to vote. Our goal is to register and mobilize new voters in [State] to ensure all voices are heard.

About the role

This role is a great opportunity to gain experience in leadership, communication & advocacy, community outreach & engagement, campaign work, public policy, and social enterprise.

Responsibilities

Canvasser ($20/hr)

• Engage with the public in a friendly and respectful manner
• Deliver a compelling campaign message and collect complete, valid voter registration forms
• Participate in staff training to improve outreach skills
• Strictly follow the campaign's safety protocols, including the use of PPE and compliance with daily health and safety guidelines

Team Leader ($21-$22/hr)

The Canvasser responsibilities plus:

• Manage a small group of canvassers out in the field by checking in with them periodically throughout the day and debriefing with them at the end of the day
• Ensure each canvasser has all of the materials they need to be safe and successful
• Assist directors with canvasser training and administrative work

Requirements

• Passionate about progressive politics and fostering democracy
• Strong communication skills; you should enjoy working with other people and be willing and excited to speak with everyone
• Hard worker who will stay motivated to engage as many people as possible
• Open to new challenges and interested in building campaign skills
• Culturally competent and able to respectfully engage with teammates and the community

Prior voter registration experience is strongly preferred, but not required.

Pay

Canvass positions start at $20/hour. Leadership positions start at $21-$22/hour.

Schedule

Shifts run from [Xtime - Xtime] weekdays and weekends. Full-time and part-time positions available. All positions run through [date] with possibilities for advancement afterwards.
