What You're Responsible For
- Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on Volvo vehicles in accordance with factory and dealership standards.
- Accurately diagnose mechanical, electrical, and drivability concerns.
- Complete routine services including brakes, suspension, steering, HVAC, and engine repairs.
- Use OEM diagnostic tools (VIDA or equivalent) to identify and resolve vehicle issues.
- Document all work performed clearly and accurately on repair orders.
- Communicate effectively with Service Advisors regarding vehicle status, recommended repairs, and completion timelines.
- Ensure all repairs meet Volvo quality and safety standards before vehicle release.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Participate in Volvo factory training and ongoing technical development.
- Follow all federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations (OSHA, hazardous waste, etc.).
- Properly use and care for dealership-owned tools and equipment.
- Report equipment issues, safety concerns, or unusual vehicle conditions to management.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
What You Bring
- A high school diploma or GED.
- 2+ years of experience as a Main Line or Diagnostic Automotive Technician preferred.
- Volvo experience strongly preferred (or European luxury brand experience).
- Familiarity with Volvo VIDA diagnostic systems or similar OEM platforms preferred.
- ASE Certifications preferred (or willingness to obtain with company support).
- Strong electrical, diagnostic, and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- The ability to accurately document repairs and follow OEM repair procedures.
- A comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume dealership environment.
- A team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills.
- The ability to meet physical demands of the role (lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, bending, etc.).
- A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
