About The Role
We're looking for a creative volunteer to help bring our stories to life through video. You'll edit content for social media, our website, campaigns, and events — turning raw footage into compelling, on-brand videos that help us connect with our community and grow our impact. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to build their video editing portfolio, gain nonprofit storytelling experience, or give back using existing editing skills.
Responsibilities
- Edit short-form videos for social media (Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, etc.)
- Edit longer-form content such as interviews, event recaps, or campaign videos
- Add captions, graphics, music, and sound design to enhance storytelling
- Organize and manage raw footage, project files, and version history
- Collaborate with the social media and marketing teams on video concepts and timelines
- Ensure all videos are on-brand (visual style, tone, messaging)
- Optimize video formats/aspect ratios for different platforms
- Help source or shoot supplemental footage when needed
Who You Are
- Experience with video editing software (Premiere Pro, Final Cut, DaVinci Resolve, CapCut, etc.)
- A portfolio or reel showcasing past editing work
- Good eye for pacing, storytelling, and visual style
- Reliable, organized, and able to meet deadlines
- Comfortable taking feedback and iterating on cuts
- Passionate about [cause area] and nonprofit work
- Motion graphics or sound design skills are a plus, but not required
What You'll Gain
- Real-world experience editing for a nonprofit brand and mission
- Portfolio-ready video work across social, web, and campaigns
- Flexible, remote schedule
- A letter of recommendation or reference upon request
- The chance to make a direct impact on our mission
