Volunteer Sewing Instructor Needed

About the role

Chrysalis Center is seeking a volunteer or small volunteer group to lead a weekly sewing activity at our Recreation Center in Hartford.

Responsibilities

• Teach basic hand and machine sewing skills
• Help participants mend or alter clothing
• Answer sewing questions and share techniques
• Create a welcoming space for creativity, conversation, and community

Requirements

• Enjoys sewing and sharing their skills
• Is patient, encouraging, and reliable
• Is comfortable working with adults from diverse backgrounds
• Values creating an inclusive and welcoming environment

Qualifications

• No teaching experience required

Chrysalis Center
