Positions in this class assist police staff with a wide range of tasks that are crucial to the department's daily operations. This is a volunteer position and does not offer any compensation.

Requirements

  • Age: Must be 18 years or older.
  • Background Check: Volunteers must pass a thorough background investigation, fingerprint clearance, and oral board interviews.

Qualifications

Volunteers in this unit must: Possess valid driver’s license
Possess strong communication skills, both oral and written

Skills

Essential Duties
Auxiliary Patrol Functions
Proactive patrol in a marked auxiliary vehicle
Assist with traffic control on police scenes and during events
Assist with fleet maintenance

Contact: Lieutenant Seth Painter
Commitment: A minimum of one year of service is required, with a commitment of at least 16 hours per month. Exceptions for fewer hours may be considered based on department needs and the volunteer's residency status.

Days of Work

Week: Monday through Thursday
Hours: 7:00 am - 5:00 pm

Minimum Qualifications

To participate in these volunteer opportunities, individuals must meet the following criteria:

  • Ability to lift 30-50 pounds
  • Ability to operate an auxiliary marked patrol vehicle
  • Ability to communicate clearly through police radios
  • Ability to take direction and adhere to chain of command during field operations
