Volunteer Project Manager

EthicWise AI is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that equips middle and high school students to become creators, not just consumers of ethical AI knowledge. Through peer-to-peer learning, students engage in projects that explore fairness, bias, and responsibility in technology, transforming their creative work into educational resources for global peers. Our mission is to foster youth leadership in shaping a more ethical and inclusive digital future.

About the role

EthicWise AI is seeking a Project Manager to lead and deliver short-to-medium term projects that advance our programs and outreach. You’ll coordinate volunteers, keep projects on schedule and on scope, and ensure successful handoffs so our programs scale reliably and professionally. This role is ideal for an organized, communicative person who wants hands-on leadership experience in education and AI ethics.

Responsibilities

• Define project scope, objectives, timelines, and success measures.
• Create and maintain project plans, schedules, and status reports.
• Recruit, onboard, and coordinate volunteers and contractors for project tasks.
• Run check-ins, remove blockers, and keep stakeholders informed.
• Track progress against milestones and adjust plans to meet goals.
• Ensure timely delivery of project outputs (lesson modules, outreach campaigns, events, web content, etc.).
• Collect and report project impact metrics and lessons learned.
• Suggest improvements to project processes and documentation.

Requirements

• Strong organizational and written/verbal communication skills in English - very important.
• Responsible with documentation, tracking, and visibility - very important.
• Comfortable with Project Management tools and the Google Workspace.
• Comfortable coordinating remote teams and running virtual meetings.
• Reliable, proactive, accountable, and able to follow projects through to completion.
• Passion for education and ethical AI.
• Experience working with youth-focused programs, nonprofits, or education initiatives preferred but not required.

Schedule

Remote, flexible, and at least 6 month commitment.
