About the Role
Provide volunteer services and support for TUHSD students in a variety of areas, including office support, chaperoning activities or events, or volunteering to coach or sponsor athletic or activity opportunities offered throughout the district.
Volunteers are required to complete all required processing prior to beginning service with students and serve under the direct supervision of a certified staff member at all times. The supervising staff member will define the responsibilities of the volunteer.
Requirements
- Complete and submit the online Volunteer application.
- Contact the school where you applied to serve and notify them that your application is complete.
- Wait for the school/department to submit a Volunteer PAR (electronic request for processing) to Human Resources.
- Attend a scheduled processing appointment with a Human Resources Specialist (no drop-ins). Bring a photo ID to the appointment.
- Undergo fingerprinting at no cost (if you have a DPS fingerprint clearance card, notify HR to expedite processing).
- Wait for fingerprint processing (4–6 weeks) and background check clearance from the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS).
- Receive a Work Permit upon clearance, valid for one school year (July 1–June 30).
- Annual renewal of volunteer request by the school/department (re-fingerprinting not required).
