Volunteer Opportunities

About the Role

SNAP depends on the dedication and talent of our volunteers! The Neuter Scooter travels throughout San Diego County, offering affordable spay/neuter clinics “on location.” Our clinics are popular, and we’d be grateful for assistance in various volunteer roles. Bilingual volunteers are especially needed.

Volunteer Opportunities

• Vaccine Clinics:
  • Checking in customers
  • Providing comfort for the animals and their owners
  • Distributing information for post-operation procedures
• Laundry Volunteers (El Cajon at SNAP Spay Center):
  • Pick up laundry between 1–2 pm and return Monday–Friday (before the next clinic at the same location)
  • No laundry volunteers needed at the mobile unit at this time
• Social Media:

Help share SNAP’s mission on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, and/or Yelp. Assist with creating and sharing posts to raise awareness about our community impact and programs.

• Event Planning:

Contribute ideas or help execute events that bring pet lovers together. Assist with brainstorming, planning, or volunteering at scheduled events. Events help raise funds for our programs.

• Fundraisers:

Organize a fundraiser for your birthday, work party, anniversary, or reunion to support SNAP. Every dollar donated makes a difference in the lives of pets.

• Community Service:

Need community service hours? Complete the form on our website, including details about the hours needed, completion date, and purpose (school, work, or court).

• Education in Schools:

Volunteer as an in-classroom educator to teach children about proper pet care, pet overpopulation, and the importance of spaying/neutering. Bring your pet to classrooms to make a lasting impact.

• SNAP Legacy Society:

Join our new program by including a beneficiary gift to SNAP in your will, trust, or other assets (e.g., retirement accounts, life insurance). Members receive recognition, annual receptions, and semi-annual newsletters.

  For more information, email Dorell@snap-sandiego.org.

• Be a Loyal Lifesaver:

Make a monthly donation to help reduce pet overpopulation in underserved communities. Your contribution supports the Neuter Scooter and provides veterinary care to pets in need.
