Primary Responsibilities

  • Research audiences, keywords, comparable organizations, communication risks, and campaign opportunities.
  • Write or edit approved copy for social posts, emails, landing pages, presentations, fundraising appeals, and partner materials.
  • Collaborate with website and graphic-design teams so public materials remain consistent and functional.
  • Test messaging, subject lines, calls to action, formats, and distribution methods through controlled A/B or pilot approaches.

Possible Initial Assignments

  • Prepare a diagnostic memo identifying questions, gaps, risks, audiences, and preliminary opportunities before proposing a rebuild.
  • Create a 30- or 90-day campaign plan for one approved priority rather than attempting to launch all programs at once.
  • Create an audience and channel map for donors, volunteers, fosters, partners, adopters, businesses, churches, and animal-welfare professionals.
  • Develop campaign templates for Mercy Stage, The Shepherd's Ark, volunteer recruitment, foster recruitment, and supply/fundraising needs.

  • Strong written communication, reliability, and respect for factual accuracy.
  • Respect for confidentiality, intellectual property, organizational ownership, and the Christian mission.

Preferred Experience

  • Nonprofit, animal-welfare, cause marketing, fundraising, volunteer recruitment, or community-engagement experience.
  • Experience leading a project team without assuming unilateral organizational control.
  • Ability to build performance reports and explain recommendations to nonmarketing stakeholders.
  • Canva, video, website, or basic design literacy sufficient to collaborate across teams.
