Volunteer Grandma

About the Role

Momivate is a nonprofit dedicated to empowering motherhood, seeking compassionate women to serve as Volunteer Grandmas—providing nurturing support that makes a difference for young moms. Volunteer Grandmas offer short‑term babysitting, hold and comfort newborns, take toddlers on walks or engage in simple play, support moms without nearby family, and assist during weekly Leadership meetings. Background checks are required to ensure safety.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and engage children in gentle play activities
• Ensure a safe and caring environment
• Provide short‑term babysitting so mothers can rest or focus on important tasks
• Hold and comfort newborns while mothers nap
• Take toddlers on walks or engage them in simple play
• Support moms who may not have nearby family
• Assist during weekly Leadership meetings

Requirements

• Minimum commitment of 3 hours per week
• Background check required
