Volunteer: Fall 2026 Visual Storytelling: Photography & Videography

About the Opportunity

This is a volunteer opportunity provided by the Social Work Ladies Collective, Inc. (SWLC), a NYC-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit creating wellness, professional development, networking, and community-building experiences for women and femme-identifying social workers and mental health professionals. We are seeking a skilled photography and/or videography volunteer to help build a visual storytelling library and content system for our Fall 2026 programming.

Responsibilities

• Develop a simple photography/video shot list and visual storytelling approach for our events.
• Capture candid community moments, group photos, activities, partner engagement, and event highlights at one or more of our Fall 2026 events (e.g., Community Wellness Walk, Fall Networking Mixer, Fall Wellness Fest, Holiday Social).
• Capture short-form vertical video clips suitable for Instagram Reels and other social media.
• Organize and curate selected photos and video clips for future use.
• Recommend best practices for capturing future SWLC events.

The final deliverable will be a curated visual library and practical visual storytelling guide that SWLC can continue using across our 2026–2027 programming.

The Social Work Ladies Collective, Inc. is dedicated to helping women social workers and mental health professionals recharge, connect, and thrive. Through social gatherings, workshops, networking events, wellness retreats, and our upcoming Empowerment Fund, we provide resources, support, and community care. Our mission is centered on creating spaces where social workers and mental health professionals can experience connection, growth, and restoration.

High-quality visual storytelling will help us communicate the impact of our events, strengthen our digital presence, support fundraising and partnership efforts, and expand our reach within the social work and mental health community.

Project Details

• SWLC has an established Fall 2026 event calendar and confirmed programming plans, offering multiple opportunities to capture content.
• We have identified the types of visual content needed for our website, social media, newsletters, impact reporting, and community outreach.
• The volunteer will work directly with the project lead to establish priorities, receive event information, coordinate access, and receive feedback.
• Existing event materials, branding, social media channels, and examples of previous event photography will be shared to help establish the desired visual style.
• The SWLC team will implement the resulting visual library and recommendations across future events and communications.

Volunteers do not need to attend every event; availability can be discussed based on project needs.
