What You'll Do Read complete drafts and assess overall structure, flow, and pacingIdentify gaps, redundancies, or sections that need reorderingCheck that arguments (nonfiction) or story arcs (fiction) are coherent and well-supported throughoutProvide clear, actionable feedback to writers on structural revisionsRecommend chapter additions, cuts, or reordering as neededWork with the commissioning editor to ensure the final draft matches the original concept Who You Are Strong sense of narrative or argumentative structureExperience editing long-form content (books, theses, reports, etc.)Able to give big-picture feedback without getting lost in line-level detailsComfortable working with AI-assisted drafts and spotting structural issues that AI tools often missClear, constructive communicator What You'll Gain Editorial credit on published booksExperience shaping full-length manuscriptsPortfolio-building work in developmental editingFlexible, remote volunteering
