About the role

We want to collaborate with a skilled strategist to create a Comprehensive Virtual Event Playbook and Volunteer Recruitment Blueprint for an upcoming October 2026 fundraising campaign. This project is a joint initiative between Kabod House International and Open Arms 101.

Responsibilities

  • Campaign Rollout Timeline: Helping us design the operational schedule for video drops, voting rounds, and deadlines to maintain high energy throughout October.
  • Donor Journey Optimization: Reviewing the layout of our Spotfund page to ensure a seamless transition from watching a contestant's video to casting a paid vote.
  • Volunteer Role Definitions: Drafting short, actionable role descriptions for the execution committee we need to recruit (specifically a Tech Lead, Marketing Lead, and Video Asset Editor).
  • Recruitment Strategy: Mapping out a brief plan on where and how to source these execution volunteers by August so they can build out our marketing assets and tech backend.
  • Final Deliverable: A written strategic roadmap outlining our sequence timing, partnership logistics, and volunteer descriptions so we can confidently transition into the recruitment and execution phases.

Qualifications

By helping us build this fundraising playbook, you are directly empowering two organizations to scale our impact on the ground. Kabod House International and Open Arms 101 have joined forces because we believe that community problems require collective solutions. This October lip-sync competition is our most critical fundraiser of the year, designed to secure the vital annual budget needed to sustain our core community programs. Your marketing and strategic expertise will turn our creative vision into a high-yielding reality. Every dollar we save by working with you—and every extra dollar raised through an optimized Spotfund campaign—goes directly toward the families and individuals we serve. For our community members, this means expanded access to essential resources, stable local programming, and deeper support networks that foster long-term resilience. Your talent ensures we launch this event seamlessly without burning out our lean team. You aren’t just helping us organize a fun virtual event; you are building the exact financial bridge that allows our organizations to show up for our community every single day.

What we offer

We have set this project up for absolute success by securing complete leadership buy-in and alignment between our two partnering organizations, Kabod House International and Open Arms 101. To ensure we respect your time and hit the ground running, we have already completed the following preparations: Platform Selection: We have officially selected and set up our framework on Spotfund to handle the peer-to-peer voting and leaderboards. Core Event Structure: We have finalized the core concept (a virtual "donate-to-vote" lip-sync competition), the October 2026 launch window, and the financial structure for splitting the net proceeds and prize money. Leadership Availability: Executive leaders from both nonprofits are fully committed and available to attend our 3–5 consulting sessions without internal delays.
