We combine national clinical best practices with a whole-person care approach to solve our clients' medical and mental health, housing, and food needs.

Current Opening

Volunteer Coordinator & Market Aide

  • Type: Full Time (40 hours weekly), Non-Exempt
  • Compensation: $29.00-31.00 per hour
  • Location: Based in San Rafael, CA; operates out of our main Campus

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Volunteer Coordination
    • Develop and implement a volunteer recruitment strategy
    • Professionally manage volunteers
    • Evaluate volunteer performance and provide feedback
    • Manage volunteer schedules and assignments
    • Support Assistant Market Manager with event planning and implementation
    • Recognize and celebrate volunteer contributions
    • Travel to Marin farms to develop produce gleaning efforts
  • Market Assistance
    • Greet visitors and clients
    • Check in and verify clients
    • Aid in early morning delivery and food stocking process
    • Provide excellent customer service
    • Maintain organized and clean market and workspaces
    • Support administrative tasks
    • Verify and update client information
    • Track weekly food donation inventory
    • Accept in-kind donations and provide donor receipts
    • Provide translation services
    • Support clients with complex and sometimes disruptive behaviors

Qualifications

  • Federal QHC requirements: Negative TB test and COVID-19 vaccination (or exemption)
  • Experience managing volunteers, leading teams, or coordinating groups
  • Experience implementing programs, projects, initiatives, or activities
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to multi-task and maintain accurate records and logs
  • Ability to work with frequent interruptions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills and highly accurate data entry
  • Valid CA driver’s license and acceptable driving record
  • Latino cultural competency
  • Bilingual verbal fluency in English/Spanish desired but not required
