Volunteer Coach Flag Football
Founded in Tampa, Florida, i9 Sports® is the nation's first and largest youth sports league franchise business in the United States with over 1 million registrations in more than 500 communities from New York to Hawaii. Established in 2003, i9 Sports offers youth sports leagues, camps, and clinics for kids ages 3-17 in popular sports such as flag football, soccer, basketball, volleyball, and baseball. With a focus on fun, safety, convenience, and good sportsmanship, i9 Sports reinvents the youth sports experience for families across the country.
About the role
The Volunteer Coach is a hands-on role that leads athletes and provides expert instruction in their designated sport. You will be directly responsible for delivering the i9 Sports Experience and fostering a positive youth sports culture on the field. We provide practice plans, on-field staff support, referees, and all necessary equipment. This is a low time-commitment role—about 1.5 hours on a Saturday or Sunday for practice and games back-to-back.
Responsibilities
- Lead practice sessions focusing on fundamentals, skill development, and fun
- Teach and demonstrate core concepts, including sportsmanship values
- Communicate game day information to players and parents using established platforms
- Consistently demonstrate a positive attitude and superior customer service skills
Requirements
- Excellent communication skills
- Sport-specific coaching experience and knowledge
- Highly motivated self-starter; ability to work independently
- Ability to coach on weekends for the full duration of the season (~7 weeks)
- Enjoy working with and impacting kids
