About the role
Climate House is finalizing a new website and needs support designing the information architecture and user experience within the established Programs page structure. Two program pathways and the overall "spine" of the web page are already defined; the challenge is determining how users should navigate and discover interconnected projects, events, research, and other program information within that framework. The goal is a user-friendly architecture that makes Climate House's interdisciplinary work easy to understand and explore, while creating a practical information-management system a small team can maintain as programs and projects grow.
Responsibilities
- Establish a clear, intuitive system for organizing, surfacing, and connecting information—particularly where projects and activities relate to multiple program pathways
- Determine how an integrated calendar can function as part of the ecosystem rather than as a disconnected list of events
- Develop a practical UX/information architecture blueprint for the existing Climate House Programs page
- Create recommended information hierarchy and navigation within the established page structure
- Design user flows showing how visitors move between programs, pathways, projects, events, and related content
- Provide recommendations for cross-linking, categories, tags, filters, and related-content relationships
- Develop recommended integration and user experience for the Programs calendar
- Produce annotated wireframe(s) or equivalent structural UX documentation showing how the architecture should work in practice
- Create a lightweight content model identifying the key information/metadata needed for projects and events, and how content can be surfaced in multiple contexts without unnecessary duplication
Requirements
- Experienced UX/information architecture professional
- Ability to deliver concrete recommendations sufficient for a web designer/developer to implement
- Must provide recommendations for maintaining the system as Climate House grows
