Position Overview

Heritage Grove Estates Assisted Living is seeking caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Volunteers to enrich the lives of our residents through companionship, engagement, and daily support.

Key Responsibilities

• Build meaningful relationships with residents through conversation, companionship, and social interaction
• Assist with resident activities including games, crafts, music, exercise programs, bingo, holiday celebrations, and special events
• Encourage resident participation in recreational and social activities
• Help decorate for seasonal events, birthdays, and community celebrations
• Aid the Activities Department with setting up, facilitating, and cleaning up after activities and events
• Provide reading, puzzles, card games, and other one-on-one engagement opportunities for residents
• Assist the Dietary Department with meal service preparation, beverage service, dining room setup, and cleanup as directed
• Escort residents to and from activities and dining areas when appropriate
• Promote a positive, friendly, and respectful atmosphere for residents, families, visitors, and team members
• Observe resident safety and immediately report any concerns to staff members

Qualifications

• Desire to serve and positively impact the lives of seniors
• Friendly, compassionate, and dependable personality
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work respectfully with residents, families, staff, and fellow volunteers
• Ability to maintain resident confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines
• Must successfully complete the facility's volunteer orientation process
• Background screening may be required in accordance with facility policy
• Ability to follow direction from facility leadership and department managers
• Previous volunteer or healthcare experience is welcomed but not required
