About the role

This is a volunteer, hybrid role based in Fargo, ND, with some tasks that can be completed from home.

Responsibilities

• Assist with local disaster preparedness and response activities, such as supporting shelters, distributing supplies, or helping coordinate services for affected individuals.
• Answer inquiries from community members.
• Assist with administrative tasks.
• Support blood drives.
• Help organize outreach or educational events.

Qualifications

• Commitment to the American Red Cross mission and a strong interest in serving communities in times of need.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with diverse individuals, families, and partner organizations.
• Basic computer skills and comfort using email, online forms, and virtual meeting tools for remote tasks.
• Ability to follow instructions, adhere to safety guidelines, and work collaboratively as part of a volunteer team.
• Reliability in attending scheduled shifts or events and flexibility to support changing needs during emergencies.
• Willingness to complete required Red Cross training and background screening; prior volunteer or community service experience is a plus.
• Physical ability to perform relevant tasks, such as light lifting or standing for periods, for certain assignments (reasonable accommodations may be available).
