About the role
Heart for Art brings people living with dementia together to enjoy conversation, creativity, and connection through art. We are seeking a friendly and compassionate volunteer to support our weekly art sessions and foster a welcoming environment where everyone feels valued, included, and encouraged to express themselves.
Responsibilities
- Support adults living with dementia during art sessions.
- Encourage creativity, self-expression, and participation.
- Build positive relationships through conversation and companionship.
- Help create a relaxed, welcoming, and inclusive atmosphere.
- Assist with setting up and tidying away art materials.
- Work alongside our staff team and art tutor to deliver enjoyable and engaging sessions.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Friendly, patient, and compassionate.
- A good listener with a positive attitude.
- Reliable and willing to get involved.
- Interested in arts, crafts, creativity, or community activities.
- Keen to support people living with dementia.
No formal qualifications or previous experience are required. What matters most is your ability to encourage others and help people feel supported and included.
