About the role

The Voluntary Benefits Consultant in Gallagher Benefit Services (GBS) division is responsible for providing subject matter expertise and strategic consulting in the voluntary benefits (VB) space. This client and branch-facing role will primarily focus on overseeing the incumbent block of business in your prescribed geography.

Responsibilities

  • Provide subject matter expertise and support for new business opportunities within Gallagher’s integrated sales model.
  • Identify opportunities for growth within the existing book of business.
  • Collaborate with branch teams to develop strategies for expanding VB offerings and enhancing client engagement.
  • Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of all VB product lines, including voluntary benefits, enrollment solutions, benefits administration, and Human Capital Management consulting.
  • Effectively address client and prospect needs by recommending appropriate solutions.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and competitive offerings.
  • Serve as a voluntary benefits expert, guiding client strategy and supporting the design and delivery of profitable programs.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to clients to optimize their VB programs and align them with organizational goals.
  • Present recommended voluntary benefit solutions to clients, ensuring alignment with their needs and objectives.
  • Provide marketing and implementation support for complex and aligned clients.
  • Develop client deliverable content and presentations to ensure effective execution and overall client satisfaction.
  • Facilitate vendor relationships to ensure high-quality service delivery and competitive offerings.
  • Monitor vendor performance and ensure alignment with client expectations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, insurance or related field.
  • Proven experience in voluntary benefits consulting, business development or related field.
  • Strong background in vendor management and client relationship management.
  • Excellent Communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to analyze client needs and develop tailored solutions.
  • Proficiency in CRM tools and Microsoft Office Suite.

Qualifications

  • Relevant insurance licenses (e.g. Life and Health) or ability to obtain.
  • Professional designation such as Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) or Associate in Risk Management (ARM) preferred.
  • Excellent sales capabilities; outstanding verbal and written communication skills.

Pay

We offer a competitive and comprehensive compensation package. The base salary range represents the anticipated low end and high end of the range for this position. The actual compensation will be influenced by a wide range of factors including, but not limited to previous experience, education, pay market/geography, complexity or scope, specialized skill set, lines of business/practice area, supply/demand, and scheduled hours.
