Volo Sports Weekend Host (Part-time)

About the role

We're looking for outgoing, dependable, and people-focused host to be the heartbeat of our leagues and our new Club Volo venue in downtown San Jose.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the consistent, friendly point of contact throughout the 8-week season
• Use the Volo Host App to check in players and report scores
• Prepare venues before games, including basic setup
• Create a positive, inclusive environment: welcome players each week, build rapport, and help turn teammates into friends
• Ensure players feel supported, informed, and excited to return each week
• Maintain safety guidelines and league rules, resolve minor issues, and escalate concerns when needed
• Share feedback, insights, and highlights with the Volo team
• Encourage players to connect, socialize, and engage beyond the game
• Promote upcoming leagues, events, and offerings during league nights
• Encourage players to sign up again and bring friends
• Distribute marketing materials and help spread the word about Volo

Requirements

• Comfortable leading groups and speaking in front of players
• Reliable, punctual, and organized
• Tech-comfortable (able to use apps for check-in and score reporting)
• Strong communication skills
• Solution-oriented collaborator
• Able to lift and carry 30–50 pounds
• Available weeknights and weekends (that’s when the fun happens)

Qualifications

• Friendly, confident, and naturally outgoing
• Experience in hospitality, coaching, teaching, or customer service is a plus
• Loves being the go-to person for a group
• Enjoys creating welcoming, inclusive environments
• Believes sports should be fun first
