Job Summary
The Eminence Volleyball Teacher/Coach will teach one to two periods within their area of expertise under the direction of the school principal. They will create a positive learning environment, establish rapport with students, parents, and colleagues, and motivate students to develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and lifelong learning skills.
Responsibilities
- Teach core content areas aligned with the USBE's Core Curriculum and adopted by the Board of Education.
- Develop lesson plans and instructional materials, providing individualized and small group instruction to meet the needs of students.
- Use effective teaching techniques to adapt the curriculum and enhance student learning experiences.
- Utilize computers and technological classroom support equipment in student instruction.
- Supervise students in various settings, including indoor and outdoor responsibilities, regardless of weather conditions.
- Evaluate students' academic and social growth, maintain appropriate records, and prepare progress reports.
- Implement Proficiency-Based Grading in student evaluations.
- Communicate with parents through conferences, phone calls, emails, student planners, school website, and other appropriate means.
- Work collaboratively with other professionals to support student growth.
- Maintain a safe and supportive learning environment.
- Participate in faculty meetings and professional development activities.
- Administer appropriate student attendance policies and procedures.
- Participate in educator evaluation procedures as per district guidelines.
- Administer group standardized tests in accordance with state and district testing procedures.
- Sponsor student activities and select/requisition books and instructional materials.
- Model professional and ethical standards in interactions with students, parents, colleagues, and the community.
Requirements
- Full charge of the classroom and being the teacher of record.
- Must be eminently qualified in the area they are teaching.
- Pass a background check through the USBE before starting the class.
- Complete an online Educator Application and provide a resume and/or transcripts demonstrating professional experience and qualifications.
- Submit necessary hiring paperwork before starting the class.
Qualifications
- A Utah State Board of Education (USBE) approved cleared criminal background check.
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- A valid Professional Educator License for the State of Utah within the relevant "Licensure Area of Concentration" and if applicable, "Endorsement."
